Welcome
My work is based on photographs from my life and the life of others
My visual language originates from documentary photography. Nan Goldin, Mary Ellen Mark, Diane Arbus, Antoine D´Agata, Anders Petersen are photographers that have had, and still have, a great impact on me .
My pictures come as personal portraits or as anonymous fragment of bodies. I want the viewer to find out for themselvs, to decode and think and feel in their own way. Photography has a great potential to make people remember things they have forgotten.
My artistic practice, idea development, new themes and questions, are based on taking many photographs and to constantly make new and informal combinations. That keeps my curiosity alive. The less obvious and abstract relation leaves the viewer to interpret in his or her own may.
The relation between the images can be somehow abstract at times and that is where the story lies for me.
Generally, I’m revolving around human relations, trying to understand what is going on. I’m interested in the ”meeting” between individuals and the mirroring and reflection of the ”other”. The most interesting photography tells you about our lives and the lives of the others. It allows you to stop and look.
My work are a way for me to prove the existence of others and myself. I see myself as a witness to situations that I have to retell. I can see a great importance in that role, a role that I need to practice. I want that role to be my life and livelihood.
My photography is revolving around trying to get a grip, a grasp of how to communicate. My visual language has an ambition of talking about and discussing the power of life. I want to talk about hope and love, pain and living conditions. I hope that there are some inner temperatures being reflected on the surface of my work.
It’s not about the persons in my photos; they are there to help me express myself. They are objects to me and that, I would say, would make me more artistic than journalistic.
One of my strengths is that I’m very sensitive, curious and interested in people around me.
I love meeting people of different ages to help myself remember life and death.
